I know I haven't been on here for a while but I just had to share. I just came out to my parents and am stoked!

It's taken me a long time to gain enough courage to tell them- not because I was afraid they woud react badly, but because I was terrified of the act of actually telling them and how to bring it up etc. Also, I wanted to tell them both at once (again, the terrified thing) and then be around later on for them to come and chat if they wanted to... apparently we are a busy family!

But I've done it. I just went and talked to them whilst they were reading in bed and they reacted ok. Dad went really quiet and sorta shut down, mum was pretty supportive but it was clear she didn't really know what to say other than that she loved me anyway :icon_bigg. Then about 10min later, she came into my room crying and we just chatted for a while which was really cool coz she was really supportive and we talked about reactions from the church and my friends etc.

I'm so glad it went well and just wanted to share the joy  I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens from here out although that was the hardest bit methinks.

    Thanks everyone.
Yeah dad's ok. I think he's just choosing to ignore the fact for now until I get a boyfriend of something but I'm sure he'll come round. I think mum's helping too since she's being really supportive. We haven't really had a big talk about it yet but maybe that'll happen once I tell my brother and sister - next on the agenda :icon_bigg
