Does it no longer create a news feed when you change your orientation? I know at one point, a friend changed his status and all his friends got a news feed item saying "So-and-so has changed his sexual orientation to "Gay" , which was not exactly what he'd had in mind

'grats, good luck. I only got FB after I was out so I've never had the satisfaction of changing the status.

It feels really good, once you do it (in my opinion)... Congratulations on building up the courage to basically come out to most people you know.

I changed mine on Myspace after my mother deleted her account and no one seems to have even noticed.

When I first signed up to Facebook, I saw that field, and decided not to pick anything for the Interested In or Relationship Status, as I joined to connect with my friends, not as a dating site. I didn't change it to "In a relationship" when I had a girlfriend a short while after that. I have many friends who don't pick anything there, whether they be clearly straight, openly gay, or whatever.

Not that I think there's anything wrong with that field, it just isn't for me. I have posted a few gay-related items, such as related to the Obama administration's policy, but a lot of my friends are political and liberal anyway, so it wouldnt necessarily signify. On one though, someone responded that the gays should realize that he's not going to do anything about it, to which I responded in the first person, "The reason we..."

And there's becoming a fan of the pages for David Tennant and Leonardo Di Caprio

You're gonna start to notice annoying gay romance ads btw. I hate getting them -___- .
