So yesterday I wrote a letter to my parents explaining that I am gay. So today, I decided to put it in my moms jewelry box so that I know for sure that she will at least find it. Then I left and walked down to my bus stop. About the time that I got there, my mom calls me on my cell phone and says "Ian, you need to come home. I found the letter in my jewelry box." So as I am walking home I am thinking "Oh God. She is a going to yell at me and tell me it is just a phase." But it turns out she just wanted to ask me some questions. And I did expect to be asked questions but I just expected for them to be asked after school. But yeah. It feels so much better to be able to be myself in the house that I call home. Well, I am going to go and change my out status and my signature.
Congratulations to both you and your mom! It takes a lot of courage to come out to parents. I'm so glad you have such a great mom,I wish ALL people did. (mine is great, too!)
<3 How sweet. I was going to do mine with a letter... but I ended up just blurting it out, haha. <3 Congratulations, it's a great thing to be able to do!
