    Hi!
Well, this is just a funny little thing that happened to me today at the bus stop. I had the loveliest reaction from a girl I know when I told her I'm gay.

Okay Sam* and I were mucking around and being a bit silly, and Mick* looked at her, and then at me, and said
    "eerrr, Tess?"
(Mick knows I'm gay, but he was implying I should tell Sam, cos she didn't know).

    And I was like;
"Oh! yeah, umm, Sam, You might not want to do that. I'm Gay, and it might you know.."
and she looked at me for a sec then went absolutely hysterical, and hugged me so hard my ribs nearly broke and said.
"ZOMG YOU'RE SO COOL! I LOVE GAY PEOPLE!"

    And I was like....(!) :thewave:

such a nice feeling to get a positive reaction.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.............that's wonderful!!!!! It reminds me of the time a Grandma, an Aunt, and a niece of a lesbian woman came to PFLAG. They wanted help with the mom who was not accepting. Anyway, when the niece was told about her cousin being gay she said "Yaaaayyyyyyyyy....................I always wanted somebody gay in our family!" She was something like 13. Also, my son has a friend with a daughter who is like a 3rd grader. Her mother told Adam that she had been going to school and bragging to everybody she knew that she had a gay friend and his name was Adam and he was sooooooooo cool! LOL These kinds of things DO happen!

Okay I have to risk looking out-of-touch and ask... when did OMG get a Z in front of it? Does it stand for something?

the 'z' makes people know you're SERIOUS.

I don't actually know why or where it started (probably 4chan, where 90% of these things start), but it's just another wierd internet thing. The z doesn't really stand for anything, it's just kinda...further exclamation.

Cuz we don't want to sex them.

XD and XP are faces. The X is the eyes and the D/P is the mouth, indicating squinted eyes, and a wide smile and tongue sticking out respectively. ^_^

Ps. That's how my friend Sam reacted when I told her. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Somehow I have the feeling that I'm learning a whole new language here (!!) Maybe someone can create a sticky dictionary for "older" folks. :icon_bigg

  20. No, no....that wouldn't do.
You can "lolz" or "lulz," but those two words are usually used as nouns.
Example 1: "Do it for the lolz!"

If you want to achieve the maximum level of the alleged "ZLOL," you must say "(ROF)LMAO."

Hah! Internet acronyms are pretty odd. Yeah...
