Well, as planned I got together with my best friend Monday night, and stayed the night. I've been planning to come out to him at this point for months, just waiting for the next time we were actually able to meet face to face.

So, early this morning we were sitting, finally alone, playing a video game. After a lull in the conversation, I just came out and said it. He smiled, nodded and asked when I was going to tell my parents. He took it in complete stride, just as I knew he would. Wasn't thirty seconds later that we were talking about something completely different.

Feels great to finally have one foot out the door.
(As a side note, this best friend I told just happens to also be gay.)

Congratulations! The first coming out is always one of the hardest, and it looks as if this one went very well! It only gets easier and better from here!

Sounds like it's a good Thanksgiving already!

Incidentally, I like how you already changed your info and sig to match :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Congratulations! Glad you could take the first step!

It will get easier from here on, and being out to your best friend, will certainly help! I think you have picked the best person for your first coming out.

    Alright, so here's number two...

So...weeks of trying to get together with the one friend of mine who hasn't graduated/dropped out/moved out of town finally paid off. Schedules finally crossed correctly today, so he dropped by my place on his way to the Library.

And, I simply told him. He was, of course, shocked--but really not that terribly surprised. He, naturally, had no issues with it as he is gay himself. (I really need to tell a straight friend sometime... :lol:slight_smile: We talked for several minutes about it, and made plans to talk again after finals are done this week. We also talked about all the other people who might actually be gay in our group.

    Slowly moving forward!

Now wouldn't it be funny if you found out everyone was gay?

    I wonder this myself sometimes.
Then I realise, my group of friends are the straightest people I know. Which explains why they were suprised when I did come out...

Congrats on slowly getting there. It does get easier with each person!

Congratulations! And good you'll be hanging out together. Hanging out and not caring about being gay is one of the best feelings in the world!

And it will get easier and easier the more you do this. In the end, you might even start to enjoy it

Lol, believe me, it happens. With the recent coming-outs in my group of friends, the gay guys now match the straight guys in number. It's pretty strange how we apparently found each other without being out. And prety sad how we were in the closet for years and years before figuring this out...

Eh, might as well toss my third coming out in here, too...

Was talking over Facebook with an old roommate who I'm still good friends with. I asked him how his New Year's was and he said it was quiet, and that he spent it alone. But that he was talking with a new girl he likes. (This guy is the biggest womanizer I know...he believes God created boobs with him in mind. :lol:slight_smile:

He then asked me how my own woman search was going. I responded curtly, "Nonexistant." He laughed. Then, just one thing went through my mind: f*ck it! So I told him.

He was very surprised (he admits his gaydar doesn't work at all), but had no issues at all with it. He then asked me how my man hunt was going. I replied, "nonexistant."
