well today was eventful. Let me fill you in because this might not make much sense otherwise, a while back I got into a pretty offensive (for me) argument with a guy and another girl in journalism, the guy was suggesting that for my article on homophobia that I should say about the rising cost of lube for gay anal sex, pretty stupid I know but the scary thing was he was absolutly serious, that or he played the joke very very well, so then the girls started saying a bunch of really homophobic things and I quote "I don't like them lesbians they're dirty" so I got a bit riled and we argued for a little then she said "well are you gay?" but I said no for some reason then she goes are you Bi? and I said yes. She backed off and seemed to do the flippy thing and stopped being homophobic, or at least not to my face and she seemed really cool about it

so anyway that was a week ago, and since then well you know something big in school, or at least something mildly unusual, it spreads like wildfire, I had bets on a week before the whole school knew, and lost 20p by three days. Well now almost everyone knows but there was a sort of gang coming out kinda thing, where I was going to my locker to get my books when a load of guys were doing the same, then one guy walks up to me and whispers in my ear "is it true that your gay" so I nodded, not trying to make a fuss, then just about everyone started asking at roughly the same time are you? so I just was like Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes to all of them, some of them didn't believe me then they were just like ok awesome well done for admitting it. So that was cool, then in aths, the whole class was talking about me and outing me to loads of people, I was just sitting there at the front like "leave me alone I have loads to catch up on" but there was this one guy who when he heard, he asked me and I said yes and I swear he was about to have an aneurism it was so funny. So there you go, I accidentaly did the best thing in my life. Awesome, except as I was walking out of school after an after school club, these guys in a car rolled down the window and started shouting "YOU QUEER FAGGOT BLAH BLAH BLAH" I didn't know whether to laugh or reply, it was actually really funny.

Connor, you lead a very interesting life! Keep a diary, because someday someone's going to want to make a movie based on your life! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Let's see, how do I respond to your last week - Congratulations; I feel sorry for you; Wow the whole school; That's great to hear; That's too funny; That's so rude... There, I think I've covered all the bases!

Seriously, I'm really proud of the stand you're taking at school. As you can see, it's bringing with it a lot of good and some bad as well. But you do seem like a strong person who's more than able to defend your ground, so good for you! Don't let the idiots get the best of you - I think you've found that there are lots more wonderful people in your world than there are jerks in cars. I admire you for how strong of a person you are!

Surround yourself with the people who are good for you, ignore the people who are bad for you, and keep on doing what you're doing. If you don't lose your conviction, you'll show the whole world that this is Connor, take it or leave it. If they choose to take it, then you'll have some true friends. And if they choose to leave it, then it's their loss - they're missing out on an excellent person!

Congrats on being out! Maybe it wasn't the easiest and most chosen way to do so, but I think in the end you'll be a lot happier.

And... personally, I found the idea about including the rising cost of lube hilarious! I find that many of the stereotypes are rooted in truth, and so I figure just embracing them (and those who joke about them) has the effect of deflating their arguments/insults really quickly.

I also echo James idea that you should keep a journal of all this stuff

I agree with James. Surround yourself with positive people and f*** the rest so to speak. You're still young so many people aren't mature yet. And sometimes you'll find, that some people never mature.

As for that girl and her dirty lesbian comment... does she actually know any lesbians personally or is she religious and just knows of "lesbians" in porn?

ah, that happened to me. No one believed me when I came out, so I had to keep re-coming out. I got annoying for a while.

As for those guys in the car, you can just inform them that is they weren't such pricks then might be laid more often then they would have all the pent up, misplaced, frustration

Haha sounds scarily similar to one of my days about 2 months ago. It's annoying that people i don't even talk to seem fascinated that i'm gay, argggh. But congrats anyway.

I can relate to this sometimes. I've gotten the awesome fist pound from guys at parties... to which I respond, "Thankyou?" lol

But hey, it's better than having hatred shoved in your face.

I agree with James wholeheartedly connor.

I pray that you be protected from all violence and hostility. I hope your classmates continue to welcome and accept you. I imagine the stress of your daily life has gone down.

    Peace and congratulations.

    Peace, Mike
