Just to add a little filler behind the avatar, this is my coming out story: My first real crush was on a man named C. It was C with whom I had my first kiss on New Years Day 2008 or whatever. Anyways, I wasn't out yet at the time, so I was all hush-hush about it until April when I made out with C again, this time at school. Haha. My sister saw and she turned around and bolted. I ran after her, gave her a big hug and she had a huge smile on my face. Probably plotting to be the best bearer of grandchildren ever. Well, anyways, that's when I came out to one group of friends. I had a huge crush on C, so I spent a lot of time with him and then I asked him to the prom in late-April. The first thing I had to do was to come out to both parents before I could go to prom with, well, another man. It was a rainy evening and my mother and I pulled into the parking lot and I got all teary and I told her that I'm bisexual. She, completely to my surprise, was really excited about having a "bi" son. She outed all of her bisexual friends and lesbian friends to me. Sometimes, I wish that I could've gone to prom without telling her. She keeps outing me to people including her parents (grampa and gramma), who I must admit are not religious in any sense of the word but they're the type that it would get awkward telling them that I have a new main squeeze. The day after I go back home on the Greyhound and that very same day, I came out to my dad as being "bi." He told me that he was disappointed that I hadn't told him sooner and that he loves me regardless. Yeah, my dad is bizarre. I was curious to his acceptance of homosexuality due to the fact that one of my step-mother's friends is a lesbian and he frequently makes cracks at her sexuality whenever she's over as well as a few other remarks. Well with that out of the way, I rented my tux and got my corsage or whatever you call that silly thing. My date and I got approved and we went in the prom parade all the way to the casino and we danced the night away. Yeah, fast forward to last summer. I led a group of my friends in the pride parade and the cameras zoomed right in on me just as my dad's parents (papa and nanny) were watching. So... since they were the last people I really needed to come out to, everything was just fine and dandy from then on. I'm quite glad everything was smooth-sailing. I don't know what I'd do if it weren't. Probably live with my aunt who thinks that having a gay nephew basically makes her an activist goddess. I love you all, sorry for boring you!
Not boring at all! Great stories. I'm glat it has gone so well for you - and that you got to take your boyfriend to prom. That's really cool.
Haha, technically he wasn't my boyfriend, just a friend, but I'd rather bring him than a woman I'm not nearly a friend with.
Great way to come out to your dad's parent. On live TV! Totally entertaining story, not boring at all.
Boring? you kidding? that's Brilliant and yeah^ really is a good way to come out... maybe I could do something like that *disappears off to evil lab for T.V getting on plotting*
Aw... That's so cute. You're so lucky to have a mom like that Rodger... Really, you have no idea. lol
Haha, my mother attempts to out me at every chance she gets. I was at her work and her co-worker says that I'm a very attractive, young man and my mother pipes up: "His boyfriend thinks so too." Also, I don't even have a boyfriend and the guy I am going on dates with hasn't even met my mother. She's so crazy.
What an awesome story!! You have a most interesting family... there has to be a book or the next gay movie somewhere in there! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
:$ Oh, I wouldn't call it that. My family certainly is interesting. My mother is a new-found polyamourist and my dad is hoping my sister turns out lesbian so she can be the son he always wanted. Hahaha. Those are his words, and I laughed about it. My dad's cool about it. He's defended me a couple times, so I know he's not a total jerk. xD
