I've been coming out to a lot of my friends recently, but I'm just going to tell you about this one for now. My friend (let's call him M) and I (call me B) were leaving from the Sonic drive-in after meeting someone else there. He's one of my hometown friends who I don't see very often, but we go waaay back (Kindergarten). Here's how the conversation went: B:Hey, before you start the car, I just want to tell you something that I think it's important for you to know because your my friend. I'm gay. M: *puzzled look* Oh, really? B: Yeah. M: *looks away confused* Really? B: Yeah, really. I've known since high school. I've decided to accept it like a sane person and just fucking deal with it instead of avoiding it. M: Oh, okay. Cool! * Fistpound, he starts driving out of the parking lot * M: Did it you nervous to tell me? B: No, not really. I've just decided to tell my friends and family and not worry about everyone else. M: Cool. Wow. A small part of what I thought you are has permanantly changed. Thanks for telling me. B: Cool, thanks. M: Omigod, I hate this light. Stupid red traffic cameras. I thought the conversation was kind of funny.
Cool story! Congrats! I like this line. Kinda nips the whole "why didn't you tell me earlier" "why were you lying" questions.
