I am happy to be able to update my profile to read : Out to "FAMILY!!!". Today I came out to my other brother, and his girlfriend (basically my sister-in-law). It went very well...he was very supportive. Since I'm 26 and haven't really ever brought home a girl, he said he wasn't surprised...which somewhat sucks to hear, but who cares!...he kinda laughed when I told him I thought it might change things. He assured me that it changes nothing!! So now my whole immediate family knows - I think this is gonna help me accept myself a lot more, now that I can be myself at home. We all went out for dinner, and though my being gay was only the topic of conversation for a few brief moments, the whole dinner was awesome for me, cause I could just sit back and breathe a sigh of relief that I've finally told them all! Now on to the friends.....yikes!
Glad it went well! ...and pretend Lexington is playing piano to the left there. Don't want to ruin the avatar theme... Lex
Isn't it funny how the feeling of being out can make a whole dinner better, even if it's never mentioned? congrats!
Congratulations (*hug*) That's great you're out to your family and that everything went well with them. Let us know how things are going with your friends. Take care, Cécile
Well done, it is a hurdle, and definitely nice that they took it well. But why would it suck that he might have suspected? It's probably better, as it wasn't so much of a surprise to him, he had already half-dealt with the question in his head then.
