Didn't know where to put this... I recently posted in the anonymous section about wanting to dress like a guy (yep, twas me!). I just wanted to follow up and say that I got a tie and I got the guts up to buy the mens shoes I liked. I felt really good wearing them tonight. Someone told me that I seemed more confident lately, too. I felt very aware that I did not look like a typical girl, but it also felt nice So just thought I'd share that.
Jess, you're pretty being yourself. Who cares if you don't look like a typical girl ? I don't either and so far no one complains. Just be who you are and if you feel good in your own skin, people will get on board with this. Besides... you're a very pretty girl So, congratulations for letting your true self show (*hug*) and take care, Cécile
Congratulations, people who are worth something will like you because you are yourself not because of how you dress. (!)
I know how you feel. That nervous, is anyone watching? thought as you pick out clothing tailored to the other gender. But really? It's your life! Live it and make it how you want it.
I figure it's hard to be excited about clothes that your parents would force you to wear when you were little. To this day, frilly little church dresses fill me with dread. =P But woo! Lookin' dapper is a nice feeling, ain't it? =D
I also feel more confident the more masculine I look. Feel awkward. Congrats! I hope to do similar perhaps some time. Have you ever bought guys jeans? I've tried 'cause I'd like that baggyness, but I'm so gosh darn short, it's nearly impossible.
Haha I'm only 5 feet, so I have to take up any jeans I get, whether they are guys or girls. I havnt bought guys jeans before - got some pretty baggy girls ones though. I'm pretty small so I can actually buy boys clothes. It's goo cos kids stuff is cheaper!
