I was sitting with a group of friends at lunch. It was me, a few of my female friends, and one of my male friends, who didn't know that I'm gay. One of my friends (who we'll call Jaclyn), mentioned my homosexuality, so I whispered to her "he doesn't know". It went like this from there: J: Why haven't you told him? Me: The opportunity never presented itself. J: Why not now? Me: Because it's wouldn't exactly be appropriate. (It was off topic, at least.) J: Can I tell him? Me: If there's some void in your life that can only be filled by telling him, the go ahead. J: (To my friend) He's gay. Me: -.- Me friend claimed he knew already, though he did act a bit surprised. All in all, it was a good experience.
It happens to me sometiems but it's easier when someone tells someoen that im gay rather than me telling them lol, i hope that you didnt wanan dig a hole and jump down there
Hahaha!!! That's hilarious! Thanks for sharing. I understand you might have felt a bit ackward actually being present when she decided to 'out' you. But on a good note, it saved you having to tell him yourself. Some of the people I've told have either asked me if it's ok to mention it to someone else, or they've just told their partner. One of my friends even told her mum, and she simply replied "Well, I knew someone from your group must be." I'm fine with my friends talking to other people about it because I know they will only talk to people I'm comfortable with. So I figure as long as your friends know that you are ok with it, it's going to save you some hassle in the future.
