Default My story (Only told 1 person so far)

I feel like I've known like I'm Bi since i was in 6th grade, but I've never truely accepted it untill a few months ago (10th grade). Just the other day I pulled up the courage to tell a good friend of mine, and now he's the only person who knows, but anyways, let me explain the details.

First of all, The whole situation is awkwards because I met him last year in school, and I had my eye on him for a few months before I had ever actualy talked to him. (He is very cute, but straight) finaly we started talking in class one day and we became very good friends. Keep in mind that I was completely closed about being Bi and I never let him know. Then, just when school started up last year he moved about an hour away, but we decided that we would get together every once and a while.

Anyways, last week he came over, and I had every intention of telling him that night, but I chickened out. I just felt like I needed to scream it out, and he would be the most accepting person to talk to. We had thought that he would be heading home the next day, but an hour before he was going to leave, the plans changed and he was going to stay another night. I felt great, I had another chance.

That night we went to bed at around 1AM (I have a bunk bed, so we couldnt see each other as we talked). We just laid there talking and talking. Finaly, about 45 minutes later, I'm not sure if i mumbled something, but he asked "Is there anything you want to tell me". I'm thinking "thats my cue" and i just said " Well, I'm not sure how you'll take this, but I'm Bi". Nothing could have prepared me for his response, "You are Bi-polar?"
(I slapped myself out of frustration) I had never thought that bipolar was a possible idea for Bi. Anyways, I just almost laughted and told him, "No, Bisexual" There was a small silence, but then he just started asking me little questions like how I deal with church and how I know I'm Bi.

All in all, I think he took it very well. I always knew he was a good friend, but now I dont think I have any friends as good as him. Its nice knowing that I can talk to him without worry.

Even though that experiance went very well, I dont think I will be telling anyone else for a while. I hope this story can be a little inspiring for someone, or at the very least, a bit humorous with his response.

Thanks for listening (reading)

congratulations on coming out!

This gives some nice ideas to people who are coming out as bisexuals and might make a little... oops.

"Hey, I'm err... bi..."
"You're BI?!?!"
"Yeah, bilingual."

I'm so lame.

while i read this story i thought about the first person i came out to. He was (and still is)my best friend. i knew he would take it well becouse he had another close friend that was gay. but he was sleeping over my house and i managed to mutter out that i was gay. he says "yea i know your happy". it took all night to make him understand that i wasnt kidding.

but congradulations you did great and the first one is always hard keep it up

My dad is bipolar and I always am about to tell people that he is bi until I think about it before I speak (luckily) but I've never heard of somebody thinking bi as in bipolar.
