Via Professional Networking Site

    I have a profile on a professional networking site where I stay in touch with school mates and past colleagues. I had exchanged a couple of notes with someone I went to university with, because I saw that they'd moved to London England with their law firm.

    Today I replied again and included the following paragraph:

    I figured why make a big deal of it? And why not mention it? We'll see what he has to say.

    (Thinking about it, he's now almost 40 as well and has never been married. He comes from a fairly traditional Russian / Jewish family. I've often wondered if he was gay too...)

    I've already heard back from him. He started his email explaining his move, and then carried on to say:

    Very cool. No big deal. Life is good.

    That's so cool. I did a similar thing to a former co-worker today and got a very supportive response as well. It's great to have the trust in others confirmed with responses like these.
