OMG I just sent the email to my parents. =O

I just sent the email, hopefully answering all their questions. I'm sure it'll be fine, since my parents are very accepting of anyone. My dad's a doctor, which also means he does a lot of councelling with patients so I'm sure he's had his fair share of coming-outs. :icon_wink

I've asked them to ring as soon as they've read the email, so I'm waiting slightly impatiently, since I have no idea how often they check their emails. I live at college, 4 hours away from them.

I've already come out to a gay friend of mine I haven't talked to in ages. We were best friends in school, but haven't really been in contact since moving off to uni. He lives in the same city though, and I'm going to meet up with him and his boyfriend! :icon_bigg

 

I'm still shaking, waiting for the phone call (which could come at anytime between now and next week, lol.

Guess I'd make better use of the waiting time doing some assignments, but I'm just reading all the coming out stories. =)

 

It went better than I could have hoped! (!)

They both said they'd individually suspected, but wanted to wait until I was comfortable with it and told them myself. My mum specifically said that she always tried to phrase certain things to indicate that it was alright for me to come out to them when I was ready. Now I can rmember certain things like that (once she was telling me and my sister that "no matter what it's always ok for you to come home, no matter what").

So my parents said the only thing they were disappointed in was that I had thought they might think of me differently and that I had been worried about telling them.

I'm so happy! I cried on the phone to them, and then the conversation moved onto other stuff and everything was as it had always been.

Thanks for everyone's help, and just for other people posting their coming out stories, it's helped me a lot.(&&&)
