We were sitting there, watching TV. My aunt turned to me and asked if I was gay- it wasn't the first time she asked. It WAS the first time I answered honestly, I said, "I'm pan/omnisexual." She proceded to make jokes about it. </3 :bang:
It is a good thing that you came out. It took a lot of courage. Great Job. Great first step. Even though you may be frustrated, take the jokes as her own personal way of dealing with the fact that you are pansexual. Make some jokes about her hair or something. By the way, I love your quote by Bruce Bawer: very inspiring
Was she making jokes because she doesn't understand pan/omni or for not being straight? Hmm, either way, she's beneath you so I hope you don't let her get you down. Stay strong and congrats on telling her your truth
Congrats! Don't let the jokes bother you, it can be from lack of her own self-confidence, or just because she is upset by the news. It should fade off, but if it remains a problem, you might want to tell her politely to stop.
Probably her just getting used to the idea of pansexuality. Great job on coming out though, congrats.
