I had planned on doing it for a while, but I didn't expect it to happen today.

I had friends coming round, and my parents were going to a wedding. Most of my friends were female, 1 of them a guy (and gay). Once I told her, she was like "Should we be worried?". She was joking, she had no idea of my sexuality - so it's not her fault.

So I went downstairs to set up the Wii and my parents were both in the room. My mum explained to my Dad on who was coming over and they both started laughing. Then my dad went "You're not gay are you?", my mum responded "That's not the way to ask that is it!". I just laughed it off, not giving an answer.

Minute later, she was like "He hasn't said no". Then I thought - Hell, why not now? So I looked at her and nodded. The look on her face, I just ran over and hugged her. We walked into the other room and talked for a whilst. I felt so bad, she had a wedding to go too and I kept saying sorry and how I shouldn't have said today. But she was perfectly fine with it. Dad was al right too, I don't think it could have gotten any better.

I'm just worried now that they'll treat me differently, not in a bad way but that they might say stuff idk. They said they loved me and I'm their son no matter what.

Overall though, I feel so much better. Just a bit nervous. Is that normal?

I'm so glad they took it well! Sometimes it's best when an opportunity like that crops up. well done

I think it's normal to be nervous and a little worried, but once you get used to them knowing, it will be ok

Congratulations on getting there! Sometimes its better to do things on the spur of the moment rather than endlessly torturing yourself about them.
