How do other people hint that they're gay. There's a guy in the office I have a crush on, and so my gaydar totally malfunctions - can't tell me anything about him. To be honest, he could be either (or both). So, I mentioned getting the Chippendales in sometime (obviously joking, of course), but have to leave before I could see if that was going to elicit a response. It got me thinking that I do like to drop hints, particularly if the other person's a guy, I think they might be gay, or they're just cute. Do others do this, and if so, what methods do you guys/gals use to hint that you're not exactly straight?

you could wear a rainbow pride bracelet or something. its subtle, but others might pick up on it if they know the symbolisem.

A lot of it depends on how comfortable you are with being gay and out. I have a friend who calls his guy friends "sugar" and "girlfriend," makes it very obvious. He has no trouble flirting with anyone. But for those of us less comfortable doing such things, wearing a pride bracelet is probably a lot easier.

Unless a guy is about 60% or more obviously gay, my gaydar doesn't go off... But with girls, well' where I live the lesbians are pretty much open about their sexuality, I can look at them and go "oh they're gay", as for me, nobody can tell I am bi unless I say things like "cute bra, what cup size are you?" or "your underwear are so sexy" then girls I may be interested in could kind of notice I'm at least bi. But most of the time, if they get to know me they will know for sure, especially when I check out girls in public lol

I had someone tell me they watched gay porn multiple times in high school and enjoyed it. Not sure if this was hinting or a full-fledged coming out though.

Also, I wear a pride bracelet which makes it clear that I'm gay.

Awesome! I love it. I do have a few guys upstairs I can make gay-themed jokes with (one even returns them, and he's straight as a ruler).

Since it's an office, I can't really get away with too much pride jewelry, but I don't really "hide" my gayness anymore, what with my high voice, fashion sense (no, none of my male coworkers have caught on to suspenders coming back into fashion, or coordinating their colors much beyond black), but there's still one or two who haven't caught on. Even had a coworker "defend" me in front of others that I couldn't be gay - I'm married and have kids. Had to go out to lunch with him so I could gently explain that yes, it is possible.

I wish there were other coworkers who were gay (and out). I suspect one or two others, but it'd just be nice to have someone else to talk with, like at lunch or on break.
