But its time I had one. I'm coming out to my parents this Friday night. My friend(the same one I'm always talking about) and I are gonna go to a movie. But she's gonna come over half an hour early, and we're gonna sit my parents down and talk to them, leave, and give them a chance to think about stuff. My brother's home, so more on this later
Glad I could help somebody! I just took a shower and got out my BlackBerry, so here's the rest I promised This as I said, the friend, Lizz, is gonna come over to pick me up a half hour early or so. I'm gonna sit my parents down in the kitchen(close to the door, in case we need to run), and talk to them. I'll start off with something like 'Now I wouldn't be telling you this if I didn't think you'd be supportive and be willing to help...' Or something like that. I'll have a list of reasons, because when I get choked up, I lose the ability to remember things. Afterwards, we're gonna go to the movie, hang out for a bit depending on how much time we've got left, and then I'm going home to talk to Mom and Dad.

Well, for the first time since I found I was trans, I questioned my gender identity. I was seriously starting to wonder if this is a bad decision... And then I started thinking; I've been feely strongly about this for the past 5 months. It doesn't make sense that I'd change my mind two days beforehand. So its been likened to a bad case of cold feet, and I'm feeling good about it again!
Dammit... She had some swimteam something pop up all day, so we never got a chance to put our plan into action. I feel like I'm really wearing her thin, she doesn't talk back much anymore, even though she still talks to my friends a lot... I really don't know what to do here. I feel like I should just stop talking for a while so she won't feel so overwhelmed, and a different part says that doing that will make her feel alienated... I know this should be in the support forum, but I figured you all deserved to know what happened.
Done! It could have gone a lot worse. My dad was totally cool about it, asking me how I knew and such. My mom said 'But you're not girly!', and I'm not sure if it was serious or trying to lighten the mood. She ended up leaving halfway through, though. After I got done with my dad, there wasn't a need to leave. He was awesome about it, and my mom was nowhere to be found... After I came back in, I asked her if it was weird to drink hot water as I put a glass of water in the microwave. She saw that I wasn't different and lightened up a bit Overall, I think it went pretty well. Lizz told her parents tonight, which ended up with 2 replies of 'Really? Huh.'
So I think my mom came around... We went to Walmart today. She spent forever in the makeup aisle, talking about the prices and which ones she liked better, and then when I got out of the shower a few minutes ago, her mascara was sitting on the counter So all is going well! My dad is same ole Dad, as is Mom.
