2 different reactions my parents gave me.

Mom (i was not expecting her reaction. copy and pasted txts evo ftw.)

(1/2) I am happy tht you are talking to me about this. I am honored. Thank you. I will pray for the clarity that you need as you are maturing into the person you are t(2/2) urning out to be.I am proud of who you are. you are mine shorcomings and strengths. You are my son and nothing can change that.

Dads (i saw it coming) WTF?!?!?!?! -mom comes into save the day and is arguing with him as i type-

I hope my dad comes around soon...

Congratulations on coming out to both of them at around the same time! That takes A LOT of bravery!

And try not to worry about your dad. He's in shock but he will probably come around in a while.

Congrazzles! And like everyone else says, don't worry, it'll get better, BOTH your parents will accept you for who you are sooner or later (preferably sooner), but until your dad does, you can talk to all of us here

I see you are from Bristol. I'm originally from Kingsport, so just down the road. I know how hard it can be to have parents with closed minds, because so many people of that region are "backwards" and closed-minded. Anyway, best of luck. I no longer live in the area, thank goodness.
