Tonight I went to a gay bar with my best friend ("Tom"), his girlfriend ("Katy"), and his girlfriend's best friend ("Mike"). Mike is gay. Mike said something about me and Tom being the straight calmer version of him and Katy. I said "No not exactly because I'm not straight." He was surprised and asked me what I meant.

I said "Well, I'm Lebanese." lol it was easier to say than I'm gay or I'm a lesbian. He was really surprised and excited. All night we were hugging and dancing. I actually danced up on him which I've never done before. I thought it was okay since we are both gay. He got drunk but I had so much fun.

He said we are new best gay friends and that he wants to hang out again. I'm happy that I didn't pretend to be straight and now I have an awesome gay friend. I usually chicken out. Sorry for this rambling but I am feeling good right now and I'm kind of proud to be gay.

It made me so happy to read this! I remembered the first time i went out to a gay club with some gay friends. I felt amazing for like an entire week! hahah. I got my first kiss that night too, one i'm not really proud of. >:/

Tiny>> I agree gay guys are awesome. I've never been to a gay club with a gay guy. I always have gone with straight/lesbian girls and straight guys. This is the most fun I've had at that gay club. I feel weird about dancing with straight girls because they might get creeped out and with gay girls I get nervous.

I really feel awkward about hugging or touching people so I never dance close to anyone. However I didn't feel awkward at all with him dancing on me or licking my face (lol...). He gave me the tightest hug I think I've ever had. It was amazing. I feel like Frank on the Real World being happy to have Sam around.

I am usually a fairly reserved person and I never let my walls down. But I feel like that one hug really has made me feel so much better. My best friend Tom has never been able to hug me that much. And last night Mike inspired me to hug Tom. I think Tom was happy to have all of us together.

Anyway, I hope I don't sound like a creep lol. I just was really happy that he was there and that I could come out to him and have fun.

Congrats on coming out to your wonderful friends. Glad you guys had so much fun.

I totally understand about being reserved and feeling awkward when hugging other people--even good friends. My friends try to hug me as much as possible to get me to be more comfortable with hugs and less afraid of being touchy-feely, and I must say that I still feel apprehensive about hugging them. The feeling of knowing that the people who hug me care about me deeply does give a mighty good rush, though, I have to admit.
