    When you figured out you were gay?

    I don't really know for me cause as I look back on it I thought I was gay all along. and like how I used to act I am surprised every one else didn't know, I hated dirt, bugs, every sport under the sun and I would play w/ Barbies all the time with my cousin.

    exactly the same for me. i've always been different, and knew i had an attraction to men when i found gay porn in middle school.

    acceptance is a differnt story though. thats more recent.

    Figured out - gradually from around 13, with a couple of significant realisations when I was 16 and 17.

    Then several years denying it to myself, trying and failing to be straight.

    Accepted it - 26.

    Well, er, still figuring it out/always sorta knew (ok, that sounds contradictory but the epiphany only just happened!!) but basically, if you get what I mean when I put down two dates, one when the possibility reared its head only to be beaten down, and the other where I was hit by the force of the truth:

    - at 12/13
    - at 23

    When I properly accept it/come out we'll see!!

    I went to an all-boys boarding school from age 11 too. However I convinced myself that it was "just a phase" and that I was having 'fun' with and fancied boys just because I had no access to girls. If I had applied a bit of common sense and logic I would have known the truth certainly from around 13, if not earlier.

    The points of realisation were just before I left school at 16 (when I realised that all this 'fun' would come to an end, that things would be completely different etc), and at 17 when I had the hots for a guy I saw at the railway station (I should fancy girls but I actually fancy guys therefore I must be......).

    Funny - I went to an all-girls sixth form (age 16-18 for you non-Brits) which enabled me to explain it away using the "no access" excuse - in spite of the fact that this began much earlier at about 12/13, when I had plenty of access to boys!!

    umm... brief realisation at around 9, bashed down with a pitchfork for several years... epiphany around 14 when i discovered i enjoyed fantasising about other girls way more than a straight girl ought to.

    When I was eleven I started thinking I might have been. By the time I was twelve I was completely sure about it.

    When I was very young I really liked girls and had a few girlfriends. When I was around 10/11 I started to like boys as well as girls, then by 12 I'd lost all interest in girls, and suddenly realised I was gay and had been pretty much all along.

    Only really accepted it since coming out earlier this year

    i think i pretty much knew all along, i had my first experience or series of experiences at 7 with the guy who is currently my best friend in the world, and who is completely straight (seriously, he is). i actively suppressed my sexuality from as soon as i had an inkling though pretty much until january-ish. between 6th grade and 11th grade I had something like 15 or 16 girlfriends among several random hookups with girls. one of those included the time when i was in puerto rico with my spanish class and i drunken hooked up with this really annoying girl on the beach (my friends still make fun of me for it soo much). my last relationship with a girl lasted for about a month, ending in january. we made out several times but it became pretty apparent that there was little spark between us and that was when i started to fully come to terms with myself that I was actually gay, and that it wasnt something I could change by sheer quantity of relationships with women.

    I remember the exact date, so I can tell you exactly how old I was. I was 16 years, 3 months, and 1 day old when I figured it.

    how does that work exactly, did it just suddenly hit you like a ton of bricks on that particular day? did you have any prior thoughts that you might be gay?

    Realised I was gay in Year 7, accepted it pretty much immediately, came out to friends when I was 15, parents when I was 18
