A while ago a my friend ashlee ask if I was gay. I told her yes because I thought she should after all I did date her (before I knew I was gay of course) and she asked me when I found out and I told her. Then she asked me why I wanted to be gay now because apparently I have a choice of felling like being gay or not! Wow just some people

I agree with Hana Solo. Why does she want to be straight?
And my gosh...why do so many people think being gay-straight-and everything in between is a choice? If it is, why are there a lot of people who don't want to be this/that way but are?

I'm going to take another perspective on this and say that maybe she feels insecure. Maybe she's asking indirectly if it were her 'fault'; if she had done anything that may have 'put you off women'.

I know that it's agreed within most of the community that there isnt choice involved in the matter, but I also don't see the big deal if she's coming from a sincere place. I personally feel like you're making a bigger deal out of this than needed (unless she was aiming to attack or defend).

I also never "dated" this person per se, but there was a girl who I went to some dances with and had a crush on in high school (which she knew). When I told her I had a bf it was really quite entertaining =P

Yes well it was also so very random and I wasn't trying to make it a big deal I just thought it was a little funny
