I just came out to 70 people on facebook!!

I made a list of people that I thought would take it well. I haven't gotten any responses yet, but as soon as I do I'll update all of you.

OMG that is sooo awesome! Ive been thinking about doing the same thing, but I think I want to wait until Ive told my family first & then come out to everyone else, just to make it easier a bit. Im so glad you were able to do this tho!

That is AWESOME. You actually made a list of people to come out to? That takes guts. All I did was change my orientation & about me, hoping people noticed.

I made one of those lists on facebook of everybody but my extended family (I'll tell them later... they could have some issues) and the adults at my old church that I had on facebook. I left my friends from my old church on there that were around the same age as me because they supported gay rights.

I also changed my about me status around the beginning of July. I'm not sure if anybody noticed though.

Also, Nobody has commented yet, but two people have liked my status. They are both from my college. Nobody from my hometown has liked or commented on my status.... kinda worries me a bit

This might be because sometimes people don't know if you're joking or not. If you don't mind sharing, what were the EXACT words you used?

I first learned about it here. I had never thought about it either.

It took me awhile to be able to do it, I sat many nights and would write something and then not hit the post button. I don't know what was different that night, but I hit the post button. I'm glad that I did it now though, I have gotten a lot of positive responses and I have also found out that some more of my friends have come out after high school.

Another thing, If you only want to come out to a small group at a time, you can make lists or you could use the privacy settings. I made a list on my facebook, because I did not want my old homophobic church members to see my status.
