Well, I finally did it; I'm out and proud! At school, I have a small band with my two best friends. (I'm lead singer, FYI.) We're performing in our middle school's talent show, and our numerous fans are VERY excited. We're singing Lady GaGa's Born This Way, and we were discussing why we chose it to sing to our fans and teacher. (We're seriously popular at my school, we're a very good band.) When it was my turn to say why I love the song, I simply said, "Well, I'm gay and this song makes me feel good about myself." (Oh, my two besties already knew I'm gay.) A few people applauded and some just nodded, but I came out and there was nothing I could do. The news spread around the school like wild fire. Nothing's changed, people still treat me the same. But the main thing is that I'm out and happy!!
