So it went something like this (me) (mum) ''Soooo.....I kinda want to tell you something...'' #peeling spuds# ''Oh right, what's that?'' ''So, um...I'm bi'' ''Oh my god did you cheat on [boyfriend]'' ''what?! no!'' Ugh! Stereotypes, right?! Then mum asks me if I'm sure and how long I'd ''thought..um...known..um..realised'' this. (lol, tryna be P.C. about it!) She asked about some stereotypes (we're never satisfied by one sex etc) and asked if I was going to break up with [boyfriend] (no!) and that was that. I'm not sure she really believes me but I'm glad I told her none-the-less. I was expecting the usual 'psh, whatever', 'it's just a phase' or 'you don't know that for sure, you're just a kid' that happens whenever I bring up a serious issue (like depression or summint >.>) so yeah. 50/50 so far but she hasn't made any snide comments to my face so I'm counting it a plus! (I'm just dreading her telling my sister and them both being all 'psh, she's so stupid! makin' shit up all the time!' cos they do that about a lot of things I do/say >.> Fingers crossed that don't happen though!
Congrats! I found it a bit ...humourous that your mother would jump straight to "cheating" of all things xD.
That's awesome! My mom claims she is very supportive of gays, in fact 2 of my uncles who passed away were gay. I feel if I ever told her though, she either wouldn't take me seriously or kinda "freak out" lol.
