I discovered EC 3 years ago. At the time, I had a closeted friend and I was searching help to let him know I loved him unconditionally and was completely OK with the fact he was gay.
My very first thread about him is there.
During the last 3 years, I've done my best to be open and let him know I was supportive without being intrusive. Among other things I've told him about Queer as Folk (my favorite show), I took him to a bar owned by a gay couple in my village, and I told him about EC and the fact I'm an advisor here.
Last weekend, when I and some of my friends were at his place for his birthday, he finally came out to us. In the more casual possible way : he simply came home with his boyfriend and acted as if we had known all along... which is exactly the case !
I was so happy for him
The next day, I sent him a text saying that I was glad he is finally comfortable with who he is and he wrote me back saying I was one of the persons with whom it always felt implicit and easy. So I guess that means mission accomplished  I couldn't have wished for a best present for my third EC-anniversary !
I wanted to thank you all for helping me understanding better what my friend was going through and for giving me great advice on how to be supportive without being intrusive during the last 3 years. I have learned a lot thanks to you and I think I am a better person because of EC

Thanks a lot and take care, Cécile

And EC is a better place because of you, mon amour!
I can't believe that it's been three years, the time really has flown by. You're a beautiful person to have around, and I'm so glad that you have stayed

Cécile, you are an amazing friend! Thank you for all you've done for your friend and for all the positive influence you've given to people here on EC. Congratulations to your friend and I have no doubt that you had a hand in helping him accept his sexuality and finding someone to love. You're awesome
