Ok I go to some very strict catholic high school for boys and it's really homophobic.
This was more of a forced coming out.

So one day in science class, it was so boring that i swear half the class was either sleeping or doing homework for another class and I was texting one of my female friends that go to another school because we both got bored. As he goes on about some stuff about Pluto, he saw me texting. He confiscated my phone and the screensaver was a shirtless guy. The teacher asked me to stay behind after school which I did.
Then we had conversation that went along the lines of
    Teacher:why were you texting
    Me: um.
Teacher: why is your screensaver a shirtless guy
    Me: um.
Teacher: it's alright if your gay, my sons gay so yea. Just don't text in class again
Me: ok thank you sir sorry for that sir I promise it won't happen again sir.
    Teacher: are you gay
Me: yes and if that's a problem go get hit by a bus
Teacher: it's not a problem, I'm just curious

At least he's accepting and I haven't texted in science class ever since.

I hope the rest of my school has an attitude like that
    which is very unlikely

P.s I changed my screensaver to a picture of me and my little brother
When I got my phone back

That's great your teacher is supportive and nice enough to give you your phone back (I'm not sure I would have :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)

I've heard from several students in catholic or other religious schools, and surprisingly, there are almost always a few teachers, if not most, who are supportive of gay students.

While I'm sure it was awkward, you handled it really well, and it certainly doesn't hurt to have a teacher who knows and is supportive!

I'm glad your teacher was so accepting -- and it's surprising when he works at a catholic school. Bonus points for you for handling it so well!
