So, I came out to my mom last night. I had just figured out that I'm gay, so I had this huge smile on my face :icon_bigg and I didn't even realize. I walked into the bathroom to say goodnight to her and she asked what I was so happy about. I said "nothing". She didn't buy it. She asked if we'd had cocktails (I was with my friends, Alice and Josh). I said no. And when I tried to convince her I was happy for no reason, she started giving me that "mom-look", and I just said it: "Mom, I'm gay." She flipped out and gave me a hug and was so excited, because for the longest time, I thought that I wasn't attracted to either gender. She said, "Oh, you're something!" meaning, something other than asexual. That reaction was better than I could have hoped for. I'm telling my step-dad tonight. I'm prepared to take some jokes and ribbing, but other than that, I'm not sure how he'll react. I'll post about it tonight or tomorrow.
You're so lucky to get such a nice reaction. I'd love to think I'd get joked at rather than, severe awkwardness. Congrats, you're something!
Aaww xD Thats so lovely, congrats for coming out! Hopefully it will go just as well with your step-dad =D
That's such an amazing reaction! You're mother sounds so lovely! Congratulations for figuring this out and being brave enough to tell people.
