So, as promised, here is my post about coming out to my step-dad. I told him, "I'm gay." There were only a couple moments were he made a joke at my expense (but he does that anyway, he's just one of those people who only makes fun of you if he likes you) but he actually said, "Whatever makes you happy," and gave me a hug. And then he high-fived me. Not for coming out, but because I'm a girl and I like girls. The only other person I'm telling (unless someone flat out asks me, because I'm not going to lie about myself) is my sister, Serena. She always has advice, and her philosophy on relationships is, "I don't give a crap what other people think. I have needs!!" so there is no question of her understanding.
