I JUST CAME OUT TO MY PARENTS!!!!! I'm on such a high right now - I just came out to my parents and they totally embraced me! It wasn't something I was expecting, it just slipped out unplanned; but in some ways that was better in that I was able to tell them naturally instead of making it too formal and announced. In some ways it's an anticlimax - there was n shouting or raising of vices, just a meaningful discussion about life. It just feels great to have finally gone through with it, and to know that I'm loved. Some things seem a little awkward, but I'm sure over time everyone will adjust. To anyone out there who isn't sure whether to come out, I just want to say bide your time and wait for the right moment: you'll know when you're ready. To anyone who doesn't want to come out because they're scared, I hope you one day find the strength to take the leap of faith into a fuller life. And to everyone on EC, thank you so much. EC has been a lifeline for me over the past year and a half, and has helped me to feel that someone's listening in my loneliest moments. (&&&)
