Out to oldest brother omggggggg!!!!!!

    I'M SO HAPPY <3<3<3
    I got sick of waiting (obvs) so I got home from work tonight and decided "F*** waiting."
    I hovered (because that's what I do) outside of my oldest brothers door. He's 23 and often jokes with my other brother, who's 21, about being gay - never in a real negative way, just in the classic high school "Dude that's so gay". I was nervous anyways.
    So I hovered for a good 20 minutes, waiting, when he turned off his music and presumably went to bed. I of course began hating myself for not coming out. Turns out he wanted to go downstairs to see my mom first, so I followed him down. He went rummaging through the cupboard looking for food and began talking to my mom about what he was going to eat.
    So, I stood at the table and waited, and I was more at ease with my mom there. I finally said:
    "I'm gay."
    My brother laughed and said, "I know." but in the way he jokes with my brother - they always joke about being gay. So my mom poked her head out from around the corner, saw me roll my eyes, and said "King's trying to tell you something."
    "That he's hungry?"
    "No."
    "That he's gay?"
    And I nodded. And he said, "That's okay. It doesn't change anything."
    So of course, I'm now sitting here pissing myself with joy. He told me my other brother, the last person I want to tell before telling everyone, would be okay with it, which puts me more at ease.
    Oh my god I'm over the moooooon <3333

    (*hug*) There's nothing quite like a positive reaction to coming out to make me smile. I'm really glad it turned out well for you, and hopefully this will give you some momentum! Once the most important people in your life accept you for it, you'll probably be wondering why you didn't do it sooner. Go get 'em!

    You must be so relieved! Your mom and older brother are awesome. Family memebers are usually the hardest ones to come out to, so congratulations : D
    Sometimes I wish I had had older brothers *sigh*

    I think it's extra sweet that your mom helped you out :wink:. It's one thing to say one accepts it, but what she did there showed she genuinely was. And your brother's answer is priceless, cause deep down isn't it what we yearn for more than anything, that it won't change a thing?

    Right now it's just a matter of when I see him. I don't live with him and he has a career now (which is still relatively new) so he doesn't have much free time. The next time I see him, hopefully. :slight_smile:
