I talked to both my mother and my father about the fact that I'm bisexual. Both my parents were very supportive, and I was quite amused by my father's anecdote that he relayed to me after I explained the situation to him. He said that he had been preparing himself for this, and that he had anticipated it. Apparently, when I was younger (he said this with a smile and a laugh), I didn't like to breast feed as much as my brother, and a colleague of his said "Oh, maybe he's gay", which he I think found amusing. Who knows if that has any validity, but I laughed when he told me. His preparations, however, were probably due to the fact that I haven't had a girlfriend in a few years, and I have a slightly gay fashion sense (I like my pink shirts, dammit!). I'm so lucky to have supportive and caring parents, which I think can be a real rarity in some places. They both are totally okay with the whole thing, and both just want me to be happy. One of the great advantages to being out is that I don't have to post under a pseudonym on Gay forums and such , now I can use my "real" username.
