So i have been working as an assistant for a research project at my University for the past two years this month. Today my boss took me out for lunch and asked me about my recent break-up with my previous boyfriend (denial heterosexual relationship) and if we had gotten back together. My boss had told me she is very close with some gay people and even went to gay bars with her friends, even talked about going to a drag show I went to last month. So when the topic came up I just said "well, I actually left him for someone so that isn't going to happen" and she asked who and was not the least bit surprised when I told her it was my friend, with a girls name, who she has met previously. She responded wonderfully saying I shouldn't be afraid to tell her and even asked me questions about her ^.^ It is wonderful to have this support ,especially since we are an interracial couple and my boss specializes in race studes and was able to offer some wonderful advice c: (!)
