The day i came out to him i acually wrote a letter cause when i was depressed i would write instead of other things for self harm. So i went to see him and gave it to him and after he read it he was proud that i came out to someone cause he said he wouldnt of been able to do that. He was really accapting cause he had a friends who were gay too. Now im going to try to tell my parents but my dad doesnt really like gays but my mom might cause shes kinda bisexual but doesnt want to admit it. And if u have any idea on how to come out i would apricate (i spelt that wrong) it.

Well, a letter worked well with your brother, it seems. You could write one for your parents too. If you write a draft, we could help you with it if you like. There are lots of examples of coming out letters in the Resources section here, too.

Congratulations on coming out to your brother!

First off, congratulations on coming out to your brother!

Secondly, you don't have to come out to your father yet. You can wait as long or as short as you need to be completely ready. Don't rush things with them or really anyone else. Try and take a step back and look at the entire situation from both yours and your father's point of view. Think of the ways he may react to determine if you are ready to handle them or if you need more time to prepare.

Best of luck to you and have a lovely day.
