Everytime I man up to my fears and get ready to sit my parents down to the "talk", I get scared and run to my room where I ultimately sit on my laptop reading other peoples coming out stories on EC. I tell myself one moment "face your fears" and the next it's "PULL OUT! PULL OUT!". Anyone have similar experiences? This is eating me from the inside out but it seems the monster clawing in my chest is severely bipolar:bang::tantrum:. Please reply, if you do, I love you, I love you, I love you.:help:
Maybe you can write a letter and hand it to them to read while you're in the room. Alternatively, some people have texted their parents. And one of my favorite stories was a 16 year old who posted a note on the refrigerator that said "Hey, I've gone out to play basketball, be back around 6. PS: I'm gay."
I wrote my parents a note. Made my life sooo much easier. Although I still don't think my dad has gotten it through his head.
I have exactly the same experiences. While I was home, every time I was about ready I broke out my iPad and started playing Tetris. They made several comments about how obsessed I am with Tetris as well ("glorified gameboy" was a favourite). Would have been a good lead-in!
