This happened probably a month or two ago, but I never got to share it. First person I actually came out to (I said I thought I was bi to 2 of my friends, realized I'm a lesbian). She's one of my best friends and probably the most open-minded person I have ever met. I wasn't meaning to come out to her, but I know that I could trust her and I know she won't judge me for it so.

The conversation went something like this. She's K (Kristen).

K: What is with you and lesbian couples? Brittana, emaya and that couple on skins you're always talking about. (Naomily)
Me: (I took a long pause before saying it) I'm gay ..
    K: I can't hear you.
    Me: I'm gay.
K: REALLY? OH MY GOSH THAT'S AWESOME.
Me: Don't you find it weird?
K: What? Why would I find it weird?
Me: I don't know .. You can never really tell how people will react.
K: Do you not know me? My favourite couple ever is Klaine (Kurt/Blaine). Am I the first person you told?
    Me: Technically yes.
    K: OKAY THAT'S EVEN MORE AWESOME. Don't worry, I won't tell a soul.
    Me: Yeah I know.
K: I get why you like girls though, I mean they're beautiful. I totally check out girls. To me, I think everyone is a little bit gay, probably not to the point I would date the same sex but you know what I mean! I find no difference between people who like the same sex and people that like the opposite. We're all human. But hey, I still love you just the same, alright? Don't think I'm going to think of you differently. And yes, you can talk to me when you have a crush on a girl. No I will not find it awkward.

    We both laughed after that.

That is my best friend everyone haha. Gave her the biggest hug after and we resumed to the conversation we were having :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: She hasn't treated me any differently if anyone was wondering

To be honest, I was so scared of how she was going to react even though I know she's very far from homophobic. I'm glad it went well too. Hoping the next time I come out won't be such a big deal too.

    Awesome story

She sounds like a great friend. I can understand the nerves. I've come out to seversl people whom I knew would react well, and I was still nervous everytime. Here's hoping all of your coming outs go so well!

We always feel fear when we want to talk with someone even when we know they will support us, it's natural. But as you may see, once you said the first word, all becomes easier, and ends up well :icon_bigg

    Congratulations!!!(*hug*)

    That's cool...
Out of all my friends there's one in particular (who's as straight as your friend) that kind of reacted that way. 100% supportive, no judgements... Nothing but: "Hey, it's you! And I love you, woman!!"... XD
My friends are very supportive, nonetheless most of them don't seem to quite understand how this works. I can see that they see things in a heteronormal kind of way (not homophobic, just heteronormal... but who doesn't to a degree???)... It's cool, though. I just have to educate them... some are very curious. lol

    *raises eyebrow*
    Emaya???
I'm sorry... But, I'm on team Paily.

    OMG!!!
The level of hotness of this woman... GEEZUS!!

How come every girl who watches PLL doesn't go gay??!!
    I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT!!

Also, if you like lesbian storylines you might want to check out Pepsi's...
    My goodness!!!
Though, in this one they're not teens; they're both in their late 20s.
