I came out to a lot of friends today who I thought knew I was gay, but didn't. All of the GSA members wore name tags that said "I'm gay and human" or "I'm straight and don't like hate" or any variation of that. I wore one of the gay ones, and my favorite reactions from people throughout the day are as follows. 1: A girl that I drive home every day saw me making the name tag and yelled "You're gay!?" in front of the entire class. Then she high-fived and hugged me. (*hug*) 2: I sat at my lunch table, talked for a while, got up to go get lunch, and when I returned everyone at my table applauded me.:eusa_clap 3: I walked up to a group in my choir that I usually talk to. They were all talking, but all stopped extremely suddenly and were completely silent, staring at my name tag, for a good five seconds, then asking me what it meant. :lol: 4: I was sitting at a table with some friends during study hall, and a girl pointed out the name tag, immediately asking me what kind of guys I like. :lol: 5: Incredibly blank stare from a guy who I shared a cabin with while working at a summer camp. :icon_sad: 6: A girl telling me that if anyone made fun of me because of me being gay, that she would kick their face in. :eek: 7: People took pictures with me. :eusa_doh: All in all, it was a pretty great day. No one bullied me, surprisingly. I just hope those pictures don't make it to facebook... :bang:

I find it funny that now people are asking me if I'm gay all the time. I got more questions today from people who have been hearing rumors that are apparently spreading. I have mixed feeling about this. :lol:
I think it's awesome. This is the kind of thing part of me wants to do, but I'm not sure I could pull it off. Congrats on all the positive reactions!
