It's been a few weeks since I came out to my best friend (Here). I've been wanting to tell one of my other close friends and finally worked up to it.

I was texting with him last night about the election. I was telling him about the Maryland specific questions and one of them was to allow gay marriage. It passed. So I figured this conversation would be a good segway into coming out. It's just so hard form me to say the words "I'm gay" still. So putting it into the context of a conversation was much easier. Except my god this kept going right over his head. I thought I was going to have to draw a picture for him. Eventually it finally clicked. Once again, I'm blessed with an awesome friend.

Me: And much to the dismay of the Westboro Baptist Church, I can now get married.

Evan: What do you mean you can get married?
Evan: Couldn't you get married anyway?

Me: Not in this state. Not that im planning on getting married anytime soon or anything

Evan: But isn't the legislation for same sex marriage?

    Me: Yes

Evan: Then what does that have to do with you getting married unless u plan on marrying a dude

Me: This is really wooshing that far over your head, isn't it?

    Evan: What?
    Evan: Apparently so?

    Me: Figure it out yet?

Evan: I think I got it?
    Evan: Interesting
    Evan: Could have fooled me

    Me: lol. Really???

    Evan: Ya really

Me: I wouldn't have thought that.

    Evan: Thought what?

Me: That this would be news / i had u fooled.

Evan: I figured u were just a late bloomer and/or asexual
Evan: Is this a new realization or has it always been?

Me: No its not new. just getting tired of lying to my friends.

    Evan: Well good for you.

Me: Thanks . I've been wanting to tell you for a long time, its just hard to make the words come out.

Me: Billy is the only other person I've told

Evan: It's all good with me
Evan: Well at least you're free to do whatever you want in Maryland now
    Evan: Progress!

Me: cool. Thanks. Billy was cool too. He was basically like ya no shit sherlock. So when are we drinking on your deck this weekend?

Me: me getting married anytime soon is still just as unlikely as it was 20 minutes ago

    Evan: Haha
Evan: Are you just turned off by women?
Evan: And PS, women suck anyway

Me: Women don't turn me off. But they certainly don't turn me on either.

    Evan: Hah understandable

Me: hahahaha. Yes. Believe me your tribulations with women don't make me second guess myself.

    Evan: Hahahah

Me: I think Jay-Z said it best......

Evan: I don't blame you. They surely are horrible. Bitches be 99 problems

Me: I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one.
Me: btw, if you're going to tell your brother, i don't care as long as he doesn't tell
    the rest of the world.

Evan: I'm sure he will be fine

Me: u & billy r the only one's i've told and I'd rather others not find out by playing the telephone game

    Evan: K
Evan: Don't worry you'll be fine.

Me: By the time the rumor gets back home, it will be that I'm married to some guy named Tyrone and am moving to provincetown

Evan: No Tyrone. Probably like a Steven or Barack
    [yes we're both republicans]

Me: a barak? lol. Very funny. Steven sure. But no baraks or Tyrones etc

    Evan: Hahahhah
    Evan: I don't blame you

Evan: Just as I won't end up with a shaniqua or Eric

    Me: HAHAHAHA. Eric. lol
Me: what do u think your parents would think of this? I'm thinking probably more than they need to know

    Evan: They wouldn't care

    Me: oh ok

Evan: The only thing that bothers him is flamboyance and PDA, which you wouldn't have to worry about

Me: ya I noticed that, that's why i wasn't sure. Flamboyance bothers me too

Evan: Lol ya you're fine. They love you, you're like a third child

Me: I won't be wearing rainbow shirts around the house
Me: hahaha. ok good. Now I can be that even more awkward 3rd child. lol.

Evan: Lol no it will be the same

Congratulations! It is cool when you have friends like that. I had friends who were like that. Good luck to future people.

Congrats! Your story is very similar to one of my coming outs. He was awesome about it, but also said he hates the flamboyance and PDA. I initially thought...why wouldn't I kiss in public, but he said he hates PDA between a man and woman too.

Ya his dad don't care as long as I'm not prancing around in rainbow clothing or making out in front of him. Neither of which I would ever do anywhere, let alone in front of him. Not into that stuff anyway.
