    Hey guys. I'm new to this site, so I figure I may as well make one of these.

    I came out for the first time on January 14th, 2007, four days before my fifteenth birthday and four days after breaking up with my first (and last) boyfriend. It was to my two best friends, Becca and Melissa. They took it so well, they really did. Melissa especially, because she had (and still has) a sense of humor about it. Becca went weird for a while, and even actually said "I'm not comfortable with you being gay," but she eventually apologized and we're friends again.

    This summer, in June, I came out to my parents. They took it spectacularly. I even had a girlfriend for a while, which was fantastic and felt so entirely right for the first time ever. We ceased to be an item in August though, much to my dismay.

    In August, in an attempt to alleviate my sadness over the breakup, I focused my energies into making a youtube video about coming out. A day or so after it launched, it was showcased by Your Daily Lesbian Moment, and it got me loads of subscribers (which was wicked freakin cool). My mom found out though, and despite the fact that she's super cool about me being gay (she's a frequent at the local PFLAG), she made me take it down. Lame.

    But.... I re-uploaded it under a different username.

    I'm totally out at school and I've received pretty much zero hate. Everyone's really cool about it, and we have a GSA. So have hope, people! Not every coming out story is a tragedy!!!

    Hey there! Welcome to EC! (*hug*) So, I'm curious. Did someone here invite you to EC or did you find us on your own? The reason I'm curious is that your YouTube clip was on a thread two days ago here. Just curious. Anyway, welcome again! You're hilarious. :lol:

    I'm glad you've had such a wonderful time coming out. Some people get it tough and some people don't. It's great to hear positive experiences, though. It gives me hope that this world is slowly progressing toward acceptance.

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE that video! I wish I could have such a great sense of humor about it. That's definitely a good way to go about telling people in my opinion. It really doesn't have to be all droopy like a lot of people make it out to be.
