So I finally found the courage to join my local lgbt-group and I loved it :icon_bigg The only problem is that there are 'only' meetings once every week and I get a little bit sad knowing that I've got to wait so many days for the next meeting :/
I'm sure eventually you could arrange meeting up with members of the group outside of the group, exchange numbers, blah blah
It's absolutely great that you found the courage to join the support group, and that you enjoyed being there. Maybe, after you have been a couple of times, and started to get to know some people (and if you wanted to) you could always ask if some of the members would like to join you for a drink or just for a chat outside the group. It's great though you went! Hope you'll continue to enjoy going there.
Congrats, that's so awesome! I'm still terrified to go to one, especially the one set up at my school, too scared I'd know somebody.
Wish we had something like that where I live. Glad you finally got the courage and that you enjoyed it
Congratulations! (!) I too went to my first Queer Men Group. It was fantastic. It felt really good just to be hanging out with other queer guys and just be myself. No one commented on if I was acting too fem, or anything.:icon_bigg In fact we talked a lot about Dec 1st being World AIDS Day, and how we could show our support and possible opportunities to volunteer. :eusa_clap I know I'll will absolutely be going back when they get together in two weeks.
Awesome!! I am thinking of going to one when I get back school in Feb, my friend goes to it and he keeps telling me to come along, but haven't really had the courage.
