So, two nights ago I came out to my dorm staff, and last night I told him that I wanted to come out to the dorm, especially since some of them already knew and since most of them suspected it. Anyway my dorm staff said that that would be fine. So I stood up in front of 60 guys and said, "Some of you already know, but for those of you who don't, I'm gay. And the reason that I'm telling you this is because I have been hearing A LOT of gay jokes going around lately, and I am getting really offended." And that was the end of my coming out speech. I was so happy because after I told there was complete silence in the room. Not a single person gave me any crap about it. In fact everybody supports me on it. I am on Cloud 9.
Congrats man! so happy for you that it went well. Must have been a huge relief. Seem like you were ready and made the right decision. Hopefully I have the same courage to come out within the next year.
