Came out to my bestfriend last night at the bar. I sat him down and just let it all out. I started from the beginning telling him that it's taken me my entire life to come to terms with and that this was just a small part of me. I told him about my first kiss with a guy and as soon as I kissed that guy my heart just sank in my chest because in an instant I knew with out a doubt that I was gay. He was super supportive and wasn't a huge shock but it was still somewhat of a shock. He was like dude nothing is going to change. Oven known him for 15 years and thankgod I have a bestfriend like him. However this morning when I woke up even though he was super supportive I felt kinda akward for telling him. I then realized why I felt akward, it was because for the first time I completely let my guard down and was completely exposed and vulnerable. I'm still glad I told him everything and I told eventually we can let the rest of our friends know.

Congrats man!!!! I came out to my best friend a month or two ago so I know exactly how your feeling. Think about the fact that you have such a great friend and how you just put everything on the table to him, your deepest secret and he still accepts you and won't treat you any differently
I'm sure you'll feel the huge weight off your shoulders soon if you haven't already... And when you do get that feeling, embrace it fully cause its such an unbelievable feeling

    Nice job buddy

Yea it's a weight of my shoulders for sure. Btw I looked at your profile and agree 100% with you about that a straight best friend can only give so much advice lol. I'm usually not one to let myself be vunerable ever but I guess I'm going to have to start embracing it when I tell my friends about that side of myself.

Congrats Draco! I came out to my best friend yesterday and it feels great. It's no loger lingering in the back of my head to tell him; it's like removing a sound proof barrier between us.

Well now we both have a gay friend....I'll be here if you ever need to talk or need advice from a guy who's in a similar situation as you. I bet most the time my advice won't be great, but it always helps to talk things out with someone.

Haha, so what, I'd rather walk through darkness with someone else than by myself.
Oh and in your story, when you said you kissed a guy and your heart sank, that's when I accepted the fact I was gay too... I would watch gay porn and tell myself that I wasn't gay lol. But once I kissed this guy in high school, it was like everything clicked. There was like an electricity that ran through my body and it felt so surreal. I had never known that feeling. I have heard about it but wow I was not prepared, it completely changed my life

Your right I'd much rather walk through the darkness with a friend so when I trip and fall someone will there to help pick me back up. Yea I actually had my first kiss with a guy when I was 23. It was funny when I told my friend that story I had to proceed it with "well this is going to sound pretty gay" lol

Hahahahah dude, this is going to sound really gay..... Its always a great way to segway into talking about your sexuality with a straight guy friend lol. how does your friend that you're out to act when you talk to him about gay stuff? I have only been freshly out of the closet to my friend for a month or two and I feel like he gets really uncomfortable when I talk about guys or ask him for Intel on his guy friends lol

I'm pretty sure it was the most uncomfortable part of the conversation for both of us lol. I've already decided I won't talk about that aspect of being gay with friends unless they ask. At least you been out to your friend for a few months, I've been out to mine for about 12 hours. We did have some good laughs when I said this doesn't mean I'm going to be running around in purple spandex waving a rainbow flag lol and then I told him let it be known that I'm not a bottom hahahaha he laughed pretty damn loud when I told him that. But that's probably the most ill ever mention to him again unless he asks. And as for pumping him for information about his friends wouldn't really work since all of his friends are my friends. I'd never hit on one of my close friends. That would like be sleeping with family lol

Yea I wasn't thinking that about you or your friend at all. I was just saying my friend doesn't have any friends I don't know already. Sorry to hear about your mate. It always is horrible to lose such a good friend. It's good to hear your very tight with his family.

Congrats! I know how hard it is to come out to a best friend(I just came out to mine a whole 7 days now) but then when they tell you everything is fine... I's just one of the greatest feelings that words can't even begin to explain

I came out to my best friend a week or so ago, i dont really remember it because i was very, very drunk. But i do remember him telling me that hes known for years and he gave me a hug telling me something like

"you're still my best friend, even if you are a bum boy now."

I cant remember if it was exactly that, but it was similar. It was also how i knew that things were gonna be fine between us, That he could instantly make a joke about it.
