I've come out to some friends and co-workers since Monday, after deciding to accept myself as Gay.

What I didn't expect is that I am actually happy! How can I possibly feel this way? My marriage is over, I will soon be moving out on my own after almost 20 years with her, and I am happy??? I have said goodbye (for the foreseeable future) to any sexual relationship with a woman, and I am light on my feet??? What gives?

From most of the posts I am reading in this Coming Out section; I'm not getting much information on how you are all feeling after the big event, happy? sad? what???

My feelings are constantly surprising me...maybe yours will too!

Yeah, I know...it's embarrasing how long it took...I guess I'm just a little thick and it takes me a while to figure things out...

Life is a lot more fun for me since I've accepted and am comfortable with being gay, I think I'm happier now than I've ever been

Also coming out to friends I've known for years makes me immensely happy.

    Hi,

I feel the same. Coming out to siblings was exilerating not gut wrenching.

I had made a mountain of a mole hill.

The issue now is they are full of advice on how and when to tell my wife. They (especially sister) are making a mountain over a mole hill.

Hard enough to sort it out yourself without others chiming in.

But so far... I am happy too damn it! Very odd situation. The thing you feared most is a paper tige and you are happy with the discovery. How many other paper tigers are there out there?

    Stuck

Our mental maps are screwing with us, telling us that in the unexplored out-er regions "There be Dragons!"
