I'm starting to notice a trend...

Did this ever happen to anyone?

Every single person I came out to so far said that they sort of knew it... Every single one, even my father... And when I told my best friend, she said the 4th person I was planning on telling questioned her on my sexuality. (I'll call her #4) #4 told her, "Wouldn't he have gone out with you by now?" I don't think I fit into the homosexual stereotype much... which is just weird... The only things are probably my higher pitched voice and having most of my friends as girls...

Just felt like sharing that trend.

Yea... same happened with me, except with my mom, she was shocked. XD

The people I consider second moms figured it out becuase I love pink, and would always tell them to stop the gay jokes after they did too many... (Also, they weren't like my mom thinking the reason I never had a GF was because I was fat, they knew people had asked me out lol) They didn't actually ask me though, I told them after Heatqueen here managed to convince me (still not sure, I think she has voodoo mind powers =p)

But yea, all my friends said they knew, They all said "Yea, I kinda figured... but I didn't want to ask"

One of them told me I sounded like my friend Aaron (who was open when I was in the closet), and he was there when she said that, and our mouths dropped XD (we were discussing when I told her). Another said "Yea, when you told me you loved Hairspray, I knew it." lol

I've had the opposite, I am VERY straight acting when sober (plus, drunken campness is allowed if you're straight - apparently :icon_wink ) so the people who know (not many) have all said they were completely surprised by it.

Apart from one, who apparently knew, but seemed unable to pin down why  - he is someone I very rarely socialise with, so I have this feeling he was just saying it, though why, I don't know

I haven't had that experience with any of the people I've told. Everyone has seemed shocked, but my good mates have all been great about it, even the one's I play sport with.

The majority of my closest mates are girls, but I think thats because a lot of the fella's I know don't like getting too close anyway! LOL. I don't know if it's a trend as much as it is a common misconception that everyone who is even this smallest bit effiminate, must be gay! LOL... It's a load of crap in my opinion... fair enough, hardly any straight dudes I know are effiminate, but still... no reason to assume!

    End of that rant! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

ps: I don't call myself straight acting or whatever... I act in the way that comes naturally to me! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

  5. Haha some of my friends were like, "Well, have you seen the way you look at boys?" But the majority didn't really know before I told them.

The opposite is happening to me too. When I tell someone, they don't belive me, because they say they never would have thought this about me. I have to try really hard to convince them (and I think it's a bit weird that I have to do this) and I have a feeling that one of my friends still doesn't really believe me...

Haha I know what you mean. Before I come out people always asked my closes friends if I was gay (only one really knew, but he is awesome and somehow always got out of the question and sent the conv in another way). I don't really see myself as a stereotypical gay also but I guess they saw otherwise.

Well my friend (now girlfriend) gave me the "Aha I knew it!" line when I told her I was bi... and since me and her acted kinda snuggly and such even before we started dating, even my friends who I hadn't told kinda figured out I wasn't straight on their own. But I mean, it was painfully obvious.

According to my friend, who I'm out to, I'm being really obvious but I can't think how. It's really annoying.
Hmm, maybe this means I'm not trying hard to hide it anymore, but rather want more people to know without having to come out as such.
    *speculates*

haha! I'm the opposite too. The other day when I told my friend, they looked around and whispered "Really?" like it was some top secret info (which it is)
and I was like lol "yes" but yeah I sound more gay on EC than in real life

Haha I think all of my friends think its obvious that I'm gay. I dont act feminine, i just dont act like a typical straight guy. One of my best friends said that he wouldn't be surprised if I was gay, although I havent told him that I'm gay yet.
