so, I'm still very much in the closet but today I came out to my best friend. She is the first person I've ever told I'm a lesbian and i was amazed at the reaction. I'd been worrying about it for so long but felt like if I really had to telll someone soon. Thanks to someone on this website who gave me advice I told her and she was completely fine. The conversation was just like: Me: errrm....I have to tell you something. Im a lesbian. Friend: Really?? Me: Yeah Friend: ok...cool then there was like two minutes of me saying how worried I was about telling her and her saying how it made no difference to our friendship. five minutes later we were back to talking about random stuff like how cool it would be to have a ginger cat. I'm so happy I've told someone and I guess I didn't know my best friend would be so cool about it. Im also so glad I joined EC because its this website that gave me the courage to do it!!

Haha, it's funny how worked up we get over people's reactions just to find out that they don't really care all that much. Just, 'eh, that's cool, thanks for sharing.' Congrats, it still took some guts I bet.
So glad to hear things worked out! It can be hard to build up that courage but sounds like you are lucky to have a really rich and understanding friendship with this girl!
Thanks everyone for your congradulations it feels great to be able to tell people and them be happy for me - I hope my family has the same sort of reaction as everyone on here when i come out in a few years.
