    I sent one of my friends at school a message that explained the whole thing- here it is-

    "Lupe, i kinda have to tell you something- something that i haven't told people in a while-....and try not to be shocked or repulsed..but well....

    .....


    I'm kinda not straight- yeah, i'm gay.....
    funny thing is, you always joke around with eric at lunch to "come out of the closet.." well, someone there did.
    I really hope this doesn't add any sense of repulstion towards me, cause well, there really shouldn't be. Also, if you're wondering who i told first, i believe it was brenda, garren, alfonzo, and amaris at the same place/time last year, in march(it was march 2nd) Anyway, i felt that i should have told you that.

    **** Which reminds me, i remember one day you asked me if i had something to say after lunch one day a long time agao....like asking me to tell a secret. was it this you were asking about?

    ******Oh yeah, and if it's alright, please keep this to yourself for now, OK?"

    However, he read it, but didn't respond, and that scares me, cause what if he hates me now?

    UPDATE- he responded, saying the following:

    hey dude im not going to repuls or get mad at u for u bieng what u whant to be. its ur choice to be what u whant to be. oh and sorry for possibly ofending u when i made fun of eric. but i dint no for sure and i was just plaing with him. thruth is that i alredy had a suspision u were but i dint whant to tell u becuse it was none of my buissnes. oh and i also tried to tone down on my insults about gays. so hey its cool i wont judge u. oh and does eric no.

    Yay!!!!! That's so exciting. Maybe at some point (once he's had time to process the "new you"), you might just have a light hearted chat with him about it and explain to him that this wasn't a choice for you. I'm sure it's not a big deal as he seemed to take it very well, but it's good to quell those preconcieved notions of homosexuality.

    oh, he doesn't know yet. But i will tell him this week- we are in spring break, so i don't see anyone this week.

    Yeah, he kinda thinks that's it's a choice..i told him on the message that it's not a choice, and said he understood.

    If he does hate you, it's his loss but I'm sure he doesn't...just a bit stunned!! I'm a bit of a coward myself...I have a draft 'coming out' text on my phone. Every now and then, I get very close to sending it but never have yet!! Isn't that pathetic???

    personally, i don't think it's cowardly, y'know? whether it's telling them in person, through a letter, message, you're still telling them. And sometimes, you just have to, y'know?
