Coming out to a female friend over Facebook: the reaction.

Yes, a good first step - although I get why it might feel weird! I found it terrifying when I came out to someone for the first time - I did it in a facebook message, and just typing it made me shake - yet her response was like, yeah, cool. I didn't know what to do with myself afterwards!

Had you hinted it to her at all before? And are you able to follow it up with another conversation? I'd recommend mentioning it again at some point, or mentioning, eg. a male celebrity you find attractive - just in passing or something when talking about films or whatever. This is because otherwise it can be like you've come out, but it's never mentioned - and having supportive people to talk to about it is important!
