Came out to my 2 kids

    Tonight I sat down with my 2 kids, my ex-wife (whom I'd already talked with), and told my kids I'm gay.

    My daughter (25 yo) -- oh is that all, I thought you were dying or something, though I could tell she has some processing to do.

    My 16 yo son -- a man of few words "everything is the same."

    Ex wife was completely affirming, including about our marriage and how great is it that we have 2 wonderful kids together.

    I was SO nervous before hand, which surprised me, since my other recent coming outs have been so much easier for me. But then these are the 2 most important people in my life.

    Life moves forward now, gay & out.

    Parents next -- though they're elderly and not really in our lives, I will drive down to see them in a week or two.

    needed to add -- we're all watching Walking Dead together (!) ;-)

    Things seem to be going well for you on your journey to being an out gay man. We need more happy endings, or happy beginnings I mean.

    I have not posted much in your threads, but I do read them and have followed your postings. They are mostly all "feel good" postings!

    What a fantastic weekend you’ve had, 3rd date with a nice guy gaining that final confirmation of your real sexual identity (and from what you posted sounds like you really enjoyed getting that seal of approval :icon_bigg :icon_bigg) and to top it off coming out to your accepting kids and having your ex-wife’s support.

    I note from one of your previous posts you had the idea your son could be gay, did you get any sense from your coming out to him to confirm your previous suspicion?

    Aww, congratulations! :slight_smile: I saw you were mentioning your plans to come out to your kids earlier :slight_smile: Glad that you've done it! :slight_smile: And it seems like your children ad ex-wife are quite amazing! :slight_smile:

    Congrats. I've read a lot of your posts in my short amount of time here and it certainly seems you've accomplished so much. I know it must feel great. It felt great for me, though I didn't have to come out to an ex-wife and kids.
