I did it. I knew my mom would be supportive, but it still felt great to let it out. My step-dad actually handled it amazingly. He said he felt proud for the experience, but both him and mom were afraid of giving bad advice; they said they would be learning from me.... Next I want to tell my best friend. It all seems to be going fast, and I don't know how it will end up; but I do know I'm willing to take the plunge and find out.
To say they would be "learning from you" is a very, very powerful statement! It truly shows how much your parents love you and respect you. Yeah!!!
Congrats! I know how tough it can be to come out to your parents, but it is awesome when they take it so well!
Congrats !! You have awesome parents coming out to them is one of the most important things you can do. I'm amazed that you had the courage to come out to them before your best friend.
Thanks everyone. I got a chance to tell my friend today at the beginning of class in the library. I used paper at first because I couldn't work up the courage to speak. She gave me an answer right away and said she had known for a while now. Says she has amazing gadar. It's awesome to know she stands behind me , because she's a great person and friend. From here I'm not sure where to go, but again thanks for all the support; it's much easier to take steps forward when you're not alone.
Congratz on both accounts! It takes alot of guts to tell anyone. I don't plan to tell my Dad till I move out of the house.....
aww that is so brilliant, im reli happy for you! i'm glad they're so supportive.. its always nice to hear when things go so well!!
Well, congratulations on that! It's stories like these that make me want to tell my parents. Thanks for a very inspiring story!
