So just yesterday night I told two of my friends that I was gay.

    I planned it first.

so me and my two friends went to go see a play "avenue Q". It was one of the best plays I've seen. Anyways, I was supposed to tell them before they play but chickened out. While watching the play there was a side plot about a closeted gay man (this was a comedy play BTW), I didn't even know the play would mention a situation of a gay guy in my similar condition. It was funny but it made me feel even more doubtful about telling them. after the play I asked if they wanted to go to MacDonald's. I asked my friend for a pen and wrote "I'm gay" on my receipt. After we were done eating I handed the receipt to one of my friends. She thought I was joking then she realized I wasn't. she handed the receipt to my other friend and they both started asking me questions.

At the end they asked "did you already know that this play would be partially about a closeted man coming out?"
I told them no, it was a complete coincidence (I really didn't know)
I told them though that I took this as a sign that it was time to tell them the truth.

    they were very supportive:icon_bigg.
I will forever remember "avenue Q" as my coming out play.

Interesting story, some times the stars just align, and you take it as a sign that better now than never.

Yes, there seemed to be this big burden on my shoulder and now its gone. I feel like I can tell anyone now. The support here is phenomenal.

One of my friends kind of figured but she wasn't sure. My other friend was absolutely clueless, he asked so many questions LOL. "So how do you know your gay?" "do you like me?" I knew he was joking.
